Demineralization Plant

Demineralization is the process of treating water which is to be used as an input for industrial processes. The water is treated and dissolved ions (Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl-) are removed to make it fit for use as feed water. Cations and anions are removed using appropriate resins. Regeneration of the cation resin using sodium hydroxide and anion resin with HCl is done. Regenerate produced has to be neutralized and sent to an ETP. Utility of the DM Water is used in process industries such as Food processing industry, Pharma Industry, Distilleries and Breweries, Paint industry, Electroplating, Automobile industry, Power Industry and other industrial applications. DM Treatment Process Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) is used to remove micro suspended solids in the feed water. Activated Carbon Filter (ACF) is used to adsorb the dissolved organics.

Mixed Bed Unit

A mixed bed polishing unit contains strong acid Cation (SAC) resin and strong base Anion (SBA) resins combined to a ratio of approximately 40% Cation resin to 60% Anion resin. (All resin volumes are dependant upon the incoming water analysis and the required quantity of treated water). Mixed bed polishers are typically installed when a water quality of less than 1 micro ohm conductivity is required.

This process differs essentially from the separate bed system in that the two strong resins, the Cation and the Anion, are joined in a single vessel. The two resins are intimately mixed by agitation with compressed air. The grains of resin are thus arranged side by side and the whole bed behaves like an infinite number of Anion and Cation exchangers in series. Mixed bed unit is designed to produce high purity treated water required by power plant, electronic industries, pharmaceuticals and other Industrial applications.
